DIY TRANSLATIONS COSTING UK BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY MILLIONS

Independent research looking into the UK translation market shows that business and industry is wasting millions trying to produce translations in-house.

The research, undertaken on behalf of the Association of Translation Companies by The Business Research Unit, indicates that, while the value of translations produced in-house is estimated to be worth anything up to £114 million annually, the true cost to the companies producing them is likely to be many millions more.

Published 4 times a year, ATC News is the official newsletter of the Association of Translation Companies. It is circulated in PDF format via e-mail to the 85* members employing more than 1,000 fulltime staff, all members of corresponding translation company trade associations in Europe, the USA, Canada and synergistic trade organisations in the UK and Europe and is downloadable from the ATC website, which receives over 6,000 hits per month. This gives the newsletter an estimated readership of more than 7,500 per issue.
